"I have a great team of designers," she told Latina. "They understand my sense of style and I really trust what they do. So we get together and we shop and we get inspired, and from there a theme comes...whether you're sitting by the beach in Jersey or on a yacht in St. Tropez, you should look great, and you can, and you don't have to pay a lot for it. So that's where that inspiration comes from, you can see it and you can run with it. It's a lot of fun."

Clothing isn't the only thing Fuentes has endorsed. She also launched her own line of wigs, hair pieces, and extensions in 2012. The line, called Luxhair Wow, was inspired by her own experience behind the camera.

"I love sharing behind-the-scenes secrets," Fuentes told Latina. "Wigs and hair extensions have always been a huge part of my business. It's nice to be able to offer this as part of my brand. It makes sense to me, because it's all about fashion and style. The right hairstyle or cut can really define your style."

She supports animal rescue efforts

In February 2016, Fuentes lent her support to a cause that's near and dear to her: the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). When she spoke to People en Espanol (via Latin Times), she told them her family had expanded to include two rescued pit bulls named Bronx and Bette Davis. The two dogs changed the way she viewed pets and shelters.

"Before, I didn't know how shelters, adoption centers and breeding facilities worked," she said. "We didn't know that there were so many dogs being killed every day because nobody was adopting and there was no space for all of the beautiful dogs."

Since 1997, Fuentes has been raising money for and spread awareness about the work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "I feel it's important for everyone to find an organization or a cause to support and champion," she told NBC Latino. "I always felt the St. Jude mission was an important one, but it wasn't until I visited the hospital over a decade ago, that I really knew the magnitude of the miracles and hope coming out of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was then that I vowed to myself to let everyone know how important the work of St. Jude is."

Fuentes is also the co-founder of the St. Jude Angels & Stars Gala, an annual event in Miami that raises crucial funding for the hospital and also honors those that have dedicated their lives to helping the hospital help others. In 2016, the gala raised $1 million and honored a long-time fundraiser and businesswomen whose son was saved by St. Jude 10 years prior.

When NBC Latino asked Fuentes about her dedication to charity work, she said, "I feel that celebrity has given me the privilege of having a voice. I can reach many people around the world very quickly; it would be foolish of me not to use that for a good cause."
